Creeping Beauty

Final exam project at the Danish Design School.

Inspired in part by the tenebroso technique of painting made famous by Caravaggio and other Baroque period artists, this 1.8 meter wide collection of blown glass vases uses a spotlight to create a dramatic illumination effect. The scale of the work helps give the work a powerful, heavy effect. This contrasts with the lightness of the vases' thin, elegant forms.
